Product Review : ARELIS Link Exchange Software

Most of the major search engines in some way or another assess both the link popularity (number of incoming links) and link reputation (quality and relevance of incoming links) in their algorithms for ranking websites. It behooves us as webmasters, then, to spend some time improving our link popularity, and build a quality links directory on each of our sites.

ARELIS is an easy to use and very effective link building tool from Axandra. I downloaded and played with the free trial before purchasing this link exchange software. The free trial gives you a working version of the product, although you are blocked from building a working links directory with the free trial.

Setting up ARELIS was a snap, and within an hour or so, I had a number of sites identified and qualified as potential link partners. The software automates much of the process for you, providing several suggested email templates for requesting reciprocal links, and automating the process of grabbing the correct link text and description for your links directory, which is automatically built for you at the push of a button.

Instead of using one of the built in templates, I opted to design my own links directory, so that it would blend seemlessly into my website. The process took only about half an hour, and I was ready to import my existing links and start adding new ones, both manually and through the automated link search built into the software. The latter is a nice feature, as you are able to find and review suggested link partner web sites either by keyword search, or by checking for sites that link to your competitors (or to any other site, for that matter).

Although the automatic search facility suggests that you search for sites that link to your competitors, I have also set it up to check for sites that link to my existing link partners, assuming that if the site that links to mine complements my site theme, then its link partners might also be good potential link partners for me, too, further improving my link popularity and reputation.

Thus far, I have been extremely pleased with the ease of use and features of ARELIS, and found I was able to build two link directories with it in a matter of hours. During that time, I added about half a dozen quality links to my directory, and either fired off a link-request e-mail or submitted the online reciprocal link request at the various sites. Updates are free, which is a plus, as is the informative newsletter. I give this software a big thumbs up.
