Product Review : Gorilla Website Marketing

Gorilla Web Site Marketing is supposed to tell you how to get your site high search engine rankings. In a sense, it does just that, but I found much of the book to be more or less a "sales pitch" and/or a product manual for a particular software tool, which the book promotes through an affiliate sales link.

There is useful information here, no doubt, and the author does point out that one need not buy the recommended software in order to implement the strategy he promotes. He does advocate a solid strategy used by other top search engine professionals, and one certainly cannot argue with the truth of what he says in that regard.

The book is well-written and clear and informative, but I have to admit I was disappointed that it focussed on one narrow aspect of search engine ranking, and so blatantly advocated the purchase of an additional product. The uninitiated might not be aware that much the same result can be attained using any of the competitor products to the one he promotes.

On the other hand, sooner or later you're going to need the type of program that the author advocates, and the strategy he describes is one that is advocated by most other search engine experts. Correctly implemented it does lead to higher search engine rankings and the associated traffic and sales for your web site.
